Mindfulness is the capacity of being aware, fully present in the here and now which is the foundation of happiness. The present moment is the only moment truly available to us.
Mindfulness can help reduce stress, anxiety, depression,
pain, sleep problems, overthinking and much more
Come and enhance all things good about our whole
being such as awareness, understanding, compassion,
openness, cognitive function and general wellbeing.
Jon Kabat-Zinn (1990) described seven attitudinal qualities that underpin Mindfulness practice, which are both the stance we bring to the practice and a consequence of it. He later added two more. These qualities are brought to the heart of the interaction between teacher and participant in a mindfulness session. The qualities are listed below:
Non-judging
Patience
Beginner’s mind
Trust
Non-striving
Acceptance
Letting go
Generosity
Gratitude
Lessons will be themed and have a mix of meditation, group talks, and mindful movement.
